The programme
The multimodal hub is part of a mobility plan for the Bordeaux metropolitan area. It gives people a simple chain: cycle to the station, leave the bike in a secure room, take the train to the city.
The aim is to improve how everyone uses public space, through new rules for sharing the street within the city’s global mobility policy and local urban plan (PLU), with three priorities:
- safety;
- quality of life;
- the embellishment of the city.
Area to develop: 3,600 m², including a 50 m² secure bike room.
The hub
Tram line D, regional trains, pedestrians, bikes, buses and taxis meet around a planted forecourt, with Avenue Georges Clémenceau and Rue Maréchal Gallieni restructured for buses, electric charging, drop-off, taxis, bike-share and accessible parking.
Innovation: A secure bike hub in the station; a cooling island at the heart of the forecourt.
Mission of the team
Full project management for the hub: forecourt, Avenue Georges Clémenceau and Rue Maréchal Gallieni.
