Our principles
01
Grounded Places
Every project grows from its genius loci (the spirit of the place). We design spaces that honour and fit the natural, historical and cultural identity of the site.
02
Designing with People
We design our landscapes with communities and their different cultures to shape what is built for them, and to allow all to share fairly in its benefits.
03
Working with Nature
We use nature-based solutions where water, plants and habitats do the work, so places can adapt to a changing climate.
04
Local Resources
We specify local materials, building with what is nearby and respecting what is local.
About us
SIGNES Architecture et Urbanisme is a landscape, architecture and urban design studio based in Paris, working internationally since 2011. Every project grows from its landscape, urban or natural, and is shaped with the people who will use it. For each project, we bring together the right specialists from our network of trusted partners.
Four areas of our work
- 01 Landscape and Nature Based Solution – Parks, gardens, river corridors, wetlands and coasts, designed with native and/or local plants and habitats.
- 02 Urban spaces – Streets, waterfronts and squares that are cool, absorb rain and are welcoming and accessible.
- 03 Architecture in landscape – Buildings in harmony with their landscape, urban or natural.
- 04 Planning, programming and policy – Feasibility studies, landscape strategies, and masterplans for green and blue networks, ecotourism, governance, project management of construction and maintenance plans.
